Nuwar Mawlawi Diab
Associate Professor of English and Applied Linguistics
I am a tenured Associate Professor of English and Applied Linguistics with long-standing experience in teaching these subjects along with teaching translation. In 2013, I founded LAU’s B.A. in Translation program and served as its Coordinator from 2013-2020.
I have served on numerous administrative committees and councils as well as on the Senate. I also participated in several workshops and conferences on EFL writing, assessment, and feedback in Lebanon and abroad. Moreover, I organized numerous translation symposia at LAU between 2015-2023.
Research Interests
My research interests include EFL writing, teacher, peer and self feedback, writing development, writing assessment, contrastive linguistics, and translation. I have given several workshops on EFL writing and participated in several symposia and international conferences on applied linguistics. I am a reviewer for several journals, namely Assessing Writing, Innovation in Language Learning and Teaching, Language Awareness, Language Teaching Research, Review of Applied Linguistics, and System. I am also a member of the editorial board of the journal titled Feedback: Research in Second Language. My publications include many articles in internationally refereed journals and conference proceedings. I also published a book titled A Comparison of Peer- Versus Self-Feedback on L2 Writing, published by Scholar’s Press, Germany.
